Who I Am:

I grew up in New Brighton, Minnesota, and I’m proud to now raise my own family in this vibrant community. As a physician and a mom to five amazing kids (and one cranky dog), I understand firsthand the importance of a strong, supportive educational system. I’m passionate about helping children thrive—both in and out of the classroom—and I believe every student deserves access to quality education and opportunities to succeed. I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family, and I’m running for school board to ensure that our schools reflect the values and needs of the families they serve.

My Family: Sam (spouse), Kayla (SAVHS grad), Leah (SAVHS grad), Jack (10th grade), Max (9th grade), Dev (1st grade) and Padfoot (the most disgruntled dog you will ever meet).

My Profession: Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist at Children's MN.  I am the Inpatient Mental Health Medical Director and oversee hospital based psychiatry.  I am also proud to serve as Adjunct Faculty to the Psychiatry Department through the University of MN, working with medical students and residents throughout the year.  In 2025, I was appointed to the Executive Board for Direct Care and Treatment, by Governor Walz.  This board oversees all state run mental health and substance use treatment programs in MN.

My Education: I obtained a BA in Psychology and Physiology at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.  I earned by MD at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and psychiatry training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  I am Board Certified in Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and licensed to practice medicine in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

My Volunteer Work:

- Secretary of Minnesota Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists (MSCAP): I serve on the Executive Board of MSCAP, plan events with goals to engage child and adolescent psychiatrists and determine paths for patient/family advocacy.

- Soccer in St. Anthony: I am a founding member of the St. Anthony Village Soccer Club, which allows kids to play soccer year round.  We are a community based travel soccer program that is quality driven and affordable.  In addition, I am on the board of St. Anthony Village Kicks, the parent volunteer group that supports the Saint Anthony Village High School soccer program, and St. Anthony Village Boosters Soccer, which serves elementary age soccer players.

 - Saint Anthony New Brighton Educational Foundation (SANBE): prior to joining the school board, I was a proud member of this board, which fundraises and distributes grants to teachers of ISD 282.
